Congratulations on mastering the home row! You are now ready to learn to type the top row. You will be moving your fingers much more frequently in this lesson.
Always return to home row after each keystroke. Those little bumps on F and J? They're not decorative. They're there to help you find your way back without looking. Trust the bumps.
The Index Finger Keys
2.1 Index Fingers: u r
We will start the lesson by learning the two keys above your left and right index fingers: u r
Use your right index finger to reach up above j to type the u key. Use your left index finger to reach above f for r.

The Middle Finger Keys
2.3 Middle Fingers: i e
e is the most common letter in English. It's in "the." It's in "here." It's in "everywhere." It's... everywhere. i isn't far behind. You'll be typing these two a lot.
Use your right middle finger to reach up from k to type the i key. Type the e with your left middle finger by reaching up above d.

The Pinky Finger Keys

Y and T: Index Finger Stretches
2.10 Stretch Keys: t y
We've saved the trickiest for last! The y and t keys are the final challenge of the top row. These diagonal stretches require your index fingers to reach up and to the side - from j up and left for y, and from f up and right for t. Don't worry if these feel awkward at first; they're genuinely the hardest keys on this row. Master these, and you've beaten the top row! Remember to return to home position after each key using the bumps on f and j.
